At a small boutique shop on Little Collins Street, Melbourne Defit Company was engaged to remove glass display stands that were embedded into the concrete. These stands were made of toughened glass that was 32 millimeters thick.
To remove them, we had to carefully secure the glass panels, wrap them up, and intentionally break the bottom part. Then, we slowly lowered the broken pieces down to be transported away. We also had to remove some of the glass at the base to cut the protective film.
Once that was done, we used trolleys to carry the heavy glass panels and loaded them onto our truck. Finally, we cleaned up the area by using a jackhammer to remove the metal housing that held the glass in place and repaired the concrete. This job was completed after hours over two days.
