The Sportsgirl Chadstone Defit project was defined by constraints and specialized requirements, all aimed at achieving timely completion within a bustling shopping center. With the majority of work scheduled after shopping center trading hours and a strict timeline to adhere to, numerous challenges emerged during the defit process. These included the need to transport rubbish 400m away due to the closure of the nearest goods lift.
Transitioning from steel-clad offices with MDF walls to intricately designed curved changing rooms posed additional hurdles. These included the removal of large aluminum roller doors and a complex ceiling and grid system, both of which required significant time and effort to dismantle. The project encompassed a range of hands-on tasks, such as vinyl removal, rack dismantling, jackhammering, and the substantial challenge of waste disposal.
Thanks to the concerted time and labour efforts of the Melbourne Defit crew, the project was successfully completed within the designated timeframe.
